>> My name is Lashea Davis. I am a Temple University grad, 2003 and 2005. I am a social worker by degree. So social work is all about helping people. Generally we are helping the most vulnerable people who are in need, making sure that they have access to all of the basic rights and services that they should have access to. Generally, that's what social work is. So I work for an affordable housing group. So we manage and develop affordable housing, generally for low-income individuals. My department specifically tries to help connect our residents with services and resources in the community to help meet their needs. Everything that ranges from employment to education to assistance with rental income, paying other bills, helping people to go back to school as well as providing workshops around financial literacy, health and wellness matters. And trying to really get people engaged with their communities. So I am every day I'm interacting with residents. That's what we call our clients, making connections, making phone calls sometimes on their behalf. Sometimes it's giving them information and the steps that they need to follow in order to access a specific service or resource. Sometimes, like today, having a program on health and wellness, where we had a pharmacy come and do some education around diabetes and a health insurance company come to provide that information.
