Heather is the Executive Director of the Heart and Vascular Institute with Susquehanna Health. She is responsible for overseeing all outpatient testing and physician’s offices as well as all inpatient services from surgery to radiology.

>> I'm Heather Haefner. I'm an Executive Director for the Heart and Vascular Institute at Susquehanna Health in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. I oversee all outpatient testing, outpatient physician offices, six outreach locations, and then the inpatient services as well as surgery, cath labs, interventional radiology so it's big. So everything we do is dealing with patient care. So it might be -- for instance yesterday I was dealing with starting up a new valvulopasty program. Do we have the right equipment? Are the balloons ordered? What's the return on investment for that? What's the credentialing? How many staff? What do I need to be trained? So that was one of probably 25 things I did yesterday just with regards to a little bit of the initiative from an executive position. So I oversee the physician offices and the outreach clinics. So anything from EKGs, echoes, stress testing on to seeing the doctor, your appointment with your cardiologist on through to scheduling for a procedure whether you need a cath or a new pacemaker. So my staff oversees the care of over 400 patients daily through any one of my different areas. So it's a lot of patience that we're treating. We do over 30,000 procedures annually so lots of widgets to count. But the greatest part of my job is at the end of the day and at the end of every one of those widgets is a patient. And our hope is that we leave you in better care than you came to us.
