Director of Production Staffing, TMZ

>> Hi. I'm Charla Baker-Jackson. I'm the Director of Productions Staffing at TMZ. So, I give people jobs. I give them opportunities to work in production and news for major television show and websites, yeah. The thing about TMZ it does matter what you're interested in. We looked for people who are a cultural fit in terms of being interested and engaged in the pop culture world, being interested in our content. We have a lot of great exciting news content and it's celebrity based so people are always interested in the title but they don't realize it takes a lot of hard work to be successful there so we look for that drive. We look for the personality that plays the big role in who gets the job. We are a television show but first and foremost we're a website. We started out as a major website and we cover news and our news subjects happen to be celebrities but it is news nonetheless and we take great pride in our work. The people that we have working there are amazing and it takes a lot of time and commitment to do what we do to remain the best and to remain on top. But since I've been there, there's always something happening. For me it's more about seeing that person, that prospective employee come through the door wanting this job, eyes wide open and being able to narrow down the slate to identify the perfect person that we know is going to do a great job and be with us for years to come. It's very rewarding. I mean, that's been, I think that's why I do what I do, not just at TMZ. I've worked at other companies as well and it's always great to be able to give someone an opportunity to start their career and I've been at TMZ for a couple years now and the beauty of it is I've seen people come in on an entry level and now they're starting to get promoted and move up and take on more responsibilities so it's definitely a rewarding job on a daily basis.
